Phillip and Erin’s engagement session was unique for me in many ways. Phillip and I met as friends and fellow business owners. Not only is he a social partnership & club dance instructor at The Dance Room Collective in Harrisonburg but he owns and founded the business himself! I’ve enjoyed the relationship we’ve built and I love seeing the His business thrive. We have similar dreams and interests, mainly making Harrisonburg events stylish and beautiful. I through photography and he through dance.
It wasn’t long till I became friends with his sweet fiance and we started planning a dance-engagement session. The Shenandoah Valley is one of the most beautiful places on the east coast. Trust me… I’m sure of it! Unfortunately winters there can also be very cold and windy. The day we chose for their session was no exception. We all woke up early to capture the soft light of the sunrise. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the thermometer reading 24 degrees. I grabbed a couple hand warmers and headed out the door.
The location we selected was owned by another good friend, Lake at Cedar Hill. The venue is so beautifully placed on a hill in the valley. The views you’re surrounded by include rolling hills, a romantic lake, and the distant peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Anyone who books a wedding here can be sure to experience a friendly welcome and a gorgeous view of the Shenandoah Valley.
Phillip and Erin were amazing during their session. They were beautiful and elegant despite the bitter cold breeze. I am so thankful to have so many “fri-endors” in the Shenandoah valley and look forward to working with them again soon!
